Know Your Pool's Volume
Every pool maintenance task starts with one number: how many gallons does your pool hold? Chemical dosing, filter sizing, heater capacity, and water bill estimates all depend on this figure. The Pool Volume Calculator handles four pool shapes — rectangular, round, oval, and freeform — and returns gallons, liters, cubic feet, water weight, and estimated fill time from a garden hose.
For pools with a variable depth (shallow end to deep end), the calculator uses the average of both depths to approximate the volume. This method is accurate for pools with a gradual slope. For hopper-bottom pools with a sudden depth change, measuring the surface area and average depth separately gives a better estimate.
